The Wall of Hindrance

Jude’s words
(Read the Book of Jude)

Today we continue a journey to remove obstacles that are preventing people from coming to Christ. It is my belief that Congregations have varying ways of protecting themselves from disruptions. In that process Congregations take on a self-governed look void of Holy Spirit leading. At some point various “walls get built” to keep undesirables out. It then becomes a pick and choose who should be privileged to hear our special message.

Walls cause us to misplace a very important Biblical Truth “And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” Rev. 22:17

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Walls - separate and secure.  Walls feel so right.  They have a gate where inspection by the elite decide who is allowed to come in…

Dismantling Walls requires two actions…

  • Revealing
  • Repenting

…we are the only movement throughout Christian history that has developed a protective system preventing people from becoming Christians. Our structures are more about providing comfort and security than help and healing. Don’t take this wrong there is no place for chaos in the name of reaching the lost. Rules aren’t wrong, walls made by men are…

Wall of Hindrance –Matthew 9:20–22, Mark 5:25–34, Luke 8:43–48). All have reference to the woman needing healing. She had to press her way in with fear of losing her life…today if you are here with a need but are afraid people will attack you please forgive us and step in and receive.  The One Who meets you the way you and where you are to give you all you need is here!!!

Ps. 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

No matter what we try to look like we will always be defined by what we do. “Darrell Trout” You can say whatever you want to say, but there will always be an action that defines what you believe. No one will ever be defined by what they wanted to do or by what they wished they’d done.

Today removing the wall of hindrance represents an honest view of who we are and the Heavenly Help we need to keep “His Plan” the main plan. “Whosoever will…” isn’t as simple as it sounds. What is hindering the lost and hurting from entering His Kingdom…ministry leader are you showing honor and respect…laborer are you working for your own good or the good of others…are we sharing His Word or our wants? God we repent and remove every brick from the wall that hinders!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer for the lost needs more repentance for lack of action. Evangelist Robert Teal shared a story many years ago about a young lady with a very jaded life reaching and crying and pulling back while she was at the altar. Upon investigation Robert was given a revelation that as the woman reached a figure looking like Jesus teased her by appearing to reach toward her then pulling back just before she touched him. The Lord revealed to Robert that the enemy was taunting her with what appeared to be Jesus. As Robert looked at this figure he noticed the bottom of the Christ looking figure had filth at the edge of its garment. Knowing that the Lord is pure he quickly went to her and led her to the True Christ.

Is “The Wall of Hindrance” aiding the enemy in teasing and frustrating people with a tarnished view of Christ? A lie is being promoted that Christ will only help if you look a certain way!!!

The Permian Basin is taking on Zech 2:4-5 and “…shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it.  For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’”

Come next week as we remove the wall that is “Culturally” built… The Cultural Wall has been established through many years of rejecting and excusing in the name of looks covered by pretense… Many personal feelings will get bruised when this wall is dismantled…

Pastor!! Thank you for hearing and telling us the heart of the Father!

My own heart constantly struggles with knowing AND choosing the right way.

Holy Spirit has been pushing me into Psalm 15 as my life goal - especially the phrase in verse 4, David declares that he will maintain his integrity - even if it causes him ruin. I reluctantly pray that everyday - reluctant not in my desire, not because I understand what gravity of what that prayer in saying. I want to make clear, sober decisions for the benefit of the Kingdom of Christ. Looking forward to what our God is doing in us and through us for His Glory.
