Times of Refreshing
July 15, 2018

Jeremiah 31:25
I will refresh the weary
and satisfy the faint

 Times of Refreshing

Zech. 2:4-5
I, says the Lord, will be
a wall of fire round about,
and I will be the glory in the midst..

Zech. 4:6
'Not by might nor by power, but by
my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.

Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that
your sins may be wiped out, that times of
refreshing may come from the Lord,

The decision to turn from things that destroy is not a forced requirement.  If that were so it would soon produce resentment. It is a let equation. Turn to God, a decision for Godly relationship. I want God and I want forgiveness. Forgiveness is essential for relationship with The One who gives life to the full.  (John 10:10)

God is not calling our churches to be filled to capacity. The desire of God is to fill our cities with the message of Jesus Christ. To fill our cities with the Message of Christ our lives must be filled with His Spirit. God is bringing a Holy Refreshing to those who will choose to model a Holy Life!!! Nothing else will satisfy!!!

The Book of The Actions of the Apostles is filled with examples of living in a difficult place. This Book reveals Spirit Filled people living the Joy of The Lord in daily circumstances. The world rejects the need of God as they depend upon self and its ways.  Believers have an opportunity to model fresh Spirit led vitality in a daily walk.

The Book of Acts is a redirector to “The Spiritual” in the midst of the conditions of earth.

  • People reach for things to refresh.  Are the things refreshingly God given or self-satisfying and destructive? (Isaiah 55:2)
  • People look to people to refresh. Are my relationships refreshing or distracting?
  • People long for past experience to refresh. Is my past a motivator or an intruder?

The Power of God is “Acts”-tion.  The Work of God is by His Word, By His Spirit!  The Work of God is beyond “expectation”.

Let is a personal decision.  Let the “things” He provides be used for His Glory.  (Phil. 4:18-20) Let the “people” that He sends into our lives encourage. (2 Tim. 1:16)  Let the “experiences” we’ve had promote steps forward.  (Rom. 8:28) Let nothing take the place of His Word.  (Heb. 4:12) Let there always be a searching for “by My Spirit says The Lord”.  (Zech. 4:6) People, places and things in the hand of God bring REFRESHING!!!

Argentine pastor Edwardo Lorenzo;

“Together, the Word and the Holy Spirit
make an explosive combination that puts the power
of God into action in ways far beyond our expectation.”
