Complacently Compromised

Complacently Compromised

Zech. 2:4-5 …I myself will be a wall of fire around it,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will be its glory within…

Is it possible that people may religiously want God without the fire? Is it also possible to seek with moderate desire for His Glory?

Today let us tackle the subtly dangerous subject of being,

                “Complacently Compromised

There is a pleasurable satisfaction active among those claiming Christ’s saving Grace. This satisfaction is not one of being faithful to God. It is a warped view that God is obligated to be faithful no matter the activity of His creation.  If a person’s credit is compromised phone calls will be made. There will be immediate action. If the computer is compromised…shut it down, run a scan, find out where the breach is…

Jesus’ example in Matt. 4 and Luke 4 is by far the most important example coupled with life instruction given to guide us during times of attack. Offers of compromise from the enemy are hurled at Him from every possible scenario.

Matt. 4:10 “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him.”

In 1801 a Scottish historian wrote that the world’s greatest civilizations moved in a consistent pattern from beginning to ending...His observation is that nations move from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back to bondage.

Dick Brogden in his daily devotional, Live Dead Joy, associates the patterns that nations have repeated as being consistent with individuals as well.     (Take one more look at the pattern)

This pattern is adopted when God is viewed as secondary and hearts are left unguarded. At that point people become their own navigator. In this “Compromised” state of ignorance people who may have once known a powerful relationship with God are vulnerable to Satan’s deceptive schemes. Scripture and history are filled with a host of examples. Examples like Adam and Eve, King Saul, King David, Balaam…etc.

Matt. 6:33 … seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you …

Prov. 4:23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

View and understanding of God are crucial to avoiding all compromise.

Heavenly Father - Creator, Giver of Life and Judge
Jesus - Savior, Lord and King
Holy Spirit - Guide, Guest and Holy Empowerment

Complacently Compromised - is that inward notion that willingly leads people to the wildest self-confidence. Then that self-navigating wondering leads to the most dreadful sins and .

Why is this compromise even considered… Complacently is the adverb form of complacent, which means "with pleasure or satisfaction.”?

Oh but the joy and fulfillment of Knowing our Wonderful Lord!!!

Victory and purpose are ours through Him!!!

Ps. 56:9 God the Father is for me

Matt. 28:20 God the Son is with me

1 Cor. 6:19 God the Spirit is in me

Let’s find the breaches in our lives and get forgiveness. Let’s become the active, empowered Church for this last day. Fervent prayers, fervent lives, uncompromised commitments.
